David ZambonAs teacher at the Conservatoire National de Région in Montpellier and in Versailles David Zambon is also member of the Teatro lirico Orchestra di Cagliari (Italy) and is regularly called for giving master class in France, Spain, Italy and Asia. Now he is coming to Japan for masterclasses and concerts:

David Zambon plays exclusively on Meinl-Weston tubas from Wenzel Meinl, Germany: Melton/Meinl-Weston F-Tuba Model 45SLP and Melton/Meinl-Weston CC-Tuba Model 2145.

David Zambon began his studies at the Nice Conservatoire de Région, in the class of his father Bruno Zambon, and received further training with Mel Culbertson. He then entered the Paris Conservatoire Supérieur National de Musique in 1994 where he joined Fernand Lelong's class. While attending he joint Alain Savouret's and Rainer Boech's classes in Generative Improvisation, where he won the First Prize in tuba in 1997 and completed advanced study programs in order to obtain his teaching credentials (« Certificat d'Aptitude de tuba ») in 1999 and to enter the class of Perfection (« Troisième Cycle ») where he worked with the violin player Jean Mouillère and the bassoon player Gilbert Audin.

In 1998, he won the Avant-Scène Competition and in 2000, both the Second Prize and the Jury's Special Prize at the International Competition in Cheju, Korea, as well as the Second Prize at the International Competition in Brno in Czech Republic.

As a concert soloist, he has been an invited guest artist to perform as a soloist with orchestra (at the PACA Orchestra, the Garde Rébublicaine Philarmonic Orchestra…), and was also a featured guest artist in France (Festival d'Automne à Paris, Festival de Langoiran, Radio France for Musicora, the Festival New Talents in Villers sur Mer , Festival de Musique Sacrée in Nice…). Other international festival activity includes guest appearances at the Banff Center for the Arts Festival (Canada), the Europaïscher Musikmonat (Swiss), the Festival Piazzolla in Castelfilardo (Italy) and the RNCM Festival (England). He also gave solo concerts for international tour in East Africa and Indonesia.

David Zambon worked with composers like Butterfield, Toovey, Kurtag , Komulainen and played the world premiere of Mauro Lanza («Burger Time or the Saint Antoine's tentations», for tuba solo and electronic live) and Mico Nissim («mouvements contraires et figures libres» for tuba and piano).

David Zambon has recorded in live two recitals: one for the TV (Mezzo channel) in 2000 and the second one for his first CD with Radio France with the piano player Patrick Zygmanowski in 2002. He recorded a second one in the same year with the Meyer Foundation and the Paris Conservatoire Supérieur National de Musique, «De Anima». He will record the first Trio Innova's CD this year, in Japan, with Patrick Zygmanowski and Jean-Marc Fabiano (accordion).
