Here are
some pictures from the Regina 2000 conference: Meinl-Weston display,
in cooperation with Bill Stonier from Northwest Musical Services,
Vancouver.
The Meinl-Weston display soon became
the meeting place for everybody: Here we see Bill Stonier (middle) from Northwest joining John Mueller and Stewart Smith (University of Manitoba, principal euphonium player Winnipeg Wind Ensemble) discussing Euphoniums.
Janos Mazura from Hungary is checking
out the new Meinl-Weston model 2000 CC-Tuba that he will use
later is a rehearsal for the Tuba Quintet performance at Roland
Szentpali's recital. (He brought only one Tuba with him: his
Meinl-Weston F-Tuba 45 H-L and was in need for a CC-Tuba for
that).
Janos Mazura just finished his first
CD with György Vucán and the creative Art Trio: "I
let the song..."
Mr. Mazura won 2nd price at this year's ITEC Rich Matteson Jazz Competition. Check out Janos Mazura's website!

"Dancing like
an Elephant..."On the Annual General Meeting of T.U.B.A at ITEC, Mr. Anton Meinl was awarded with T.U.B.A.'s Lifetime Achievement Award. As Mr. Meinl was unable to attand the ITEC conference himself, it was an honor for me to represent him at this meeting.
I hope to see you all again in Finland next year at the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference ITEC 2001 in Lahti (Aug 4 - 12, 2001)!
