CC-Tubas:
_________________________________
After years of design work
and testing, Meinl-Weston
is proud to present its line of professional CC Tubas.
Each instrument is engineered to fulfill specific needs of the
modern tubist while maintaining a dense, rich characteristic
sound which has long been associated with the Meinl-Weston instruments.
In order to produce a line of instruments particularely suited
to the American market, each instrument was designed in close
cooperation with many professional tubists. All instruments feature
ergonomic design making these instruments particularly comfortable
and easy to play. Main tuning slides are vertical pull (Model
30/32: horizontal pull) and valve slides are arranged for easy
access.

Many of the younger tubists today are not familiar with the history
of the "Bell Model" Meinl-Weston CC-Tuba 37. If they
are, it is usually because their teacher always refers to it
as the Tuba that he or she played on in college or when they
landed their first job. The "Bell model" was probably
the most widely used CC-Tuba of the late 60s and early 70s because
it was the first Tuba designed with the cooperation of American
Tubist William Bell along with the craftsmen at Meinl-Weston.
Certainly, things have progressed since the late 60s when Bill
Bell and Anton Meinl collaborated, but the principles on which
they based this Tuba are still the industries standard for excellence. |
