Meinl-Weston Euphonium Artist
John Mueller will be releasing his
first solo CD "Euphonic Sounds" this summer.
The
recording will feature a variety of American music from the past
one hundred years including music by turn of the century composers
by Scott Joplin, Eduardo Boccalari, and Joseph Deluca, as well
as contemporary composers Mike Tomaro, William Mac Davis, and
Bert Truax.
The hallmark Sonata for Euphonium, by renowned song writer Alec
Wilder, will also be on the recording, in a fresh, new rendition.
"Euphonic Sounds" will present the Euphonium in a wide
variety of musical styles from the late 19th century virtuosic
writing of Boccalari's Fantasia di Concerto to the driving jazz
style of Mike Tomaro's Excursion. This will be the premiere recording
for Tomaro's Excursion and Mac Davis' Rondo Concertante, as well
as Dwayne Milburn's arrangements of Joplin's Euphonic Sounds
and Solace, for Euphonium, Cornet, and Piano. Mr. Mueller is
accompanied throughout the CD by Pianist Joseph Holt, and features
Cornetist Woody English. Look for this recording this summer!
